Indigenous singer, songwriter and artist Nardi Simpson talks about her work with wax cylinder recordings & a collaborative project with the National Film and Sound Archive, ‘Spirit of things – sound of objects’.

Join us for our annual lecture series, Being Collected, when we invite a significant Indigenous artist or curator to discuss issues around the care and interpretation of Museum collections. This year indigenous singer, songwriter and artist Nardi Simpson will talk on her work with wax cylinder recordings and a collaborative project with the National Film and Sound Archive, ‘Spirit of things – sound of objects’.

Simpson will also perform with Kaleena Briggs in their band, Stiff Gins, including songs in Yuwaalaraay language.

This event and reception is in associated with the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Strategy and Services.
