CITY LEADERS SUMMIT: Creating Smart Places for Smart Citizens – Opportunities and Challenges

The City Leaders Summit will bring together local and international experts and Australian city leaders to discuss the application of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to placemaking within out cities. Experts will present examples from research and practice of traditional and digital placemaking methods, techniques and systems that have helped create more liveable and sustainable places for people.

City leaders will be invited to share challenges that they are facing within their urban precinct, including the use of city infrastructures, such as public transport, waste management, social engagement programs and civic participation. This will be followed by a discussion, facilitated by Professor Ed Blakely, chair of the Future Cities Collaborative, on how to harness the opportunity that digital placemaking provides.
