This is the first in a series of talks in conjunction with our new exhibition, Points of Focus: Historic Photographs from the Pacific.
What can photographs tell us about the makers of objects found in museums? Dr Erna Lilje will discuss how she used historic photographs of people in Central Province, Papua New Guinea to understand how skirts were made and used in the past. Erna undertook her PhD research (Archaeology) at the University of Sydney through the Producers and Collectors ARC Linkage Project.
