Environment, Ethnography and Culture in Australia and the Pacific — A Program of Transmedia Histories.

We will research and produce an interconnected series of print histories, museum and digital exhibitions and online digital publications centred on major natural history collections held at the National Museum of Australia, the University of Sydney’s Macleay Museum and the American Museum of Natural History.

This collaborative project aims to show how longstanding but now neglected natural history museum collections in Australia and the USA can be revitalized by modern environmental humanities approaches in order to assist Indigenous and other modern social communities in the Australia‑ Pacific region to protect and renew their cultures in the face of extreme environmental changes.
