Meet Manuela Lopez Manan in her own words:

Hi there! My name is Manuela, I’m originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, but have been living in Sydney for the past two years. I live by the sea and love to wake up and start my day with a good surf or swim if the waves are small. I am passionate about nature and outdoor sports. My love for nature drove to study Environmental Science (currently in my last semester at the University of Sydney) in order to protect and conserve those unique places that makes us feel alive. I am interested in connecting communications and science, and seeing how this drives change into a more sustainable future.

When I’m not outside I work on my other passions: writing and photography. By communicating my love for nature, I wish to inspire people to get out there and feel life. I once heard a speech by Kris Tompkins, former CEO of Patagonia, which reflects why I do my work: “I think first and foremost, people only protect the things they love. And you can’t love something unless you inherently identify with it.” Through words and images, I want to inspire people to identify with nature, and hence, protect it.
