Babet de Groot is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Government and International Relations, researching the global environmental governance of plastic pollution along its value chain and in the ocean. Babet has a broad interest in the politics and governance of the environment, and would like to champion intersectional approaches in future research. She wrote her Honours Thesis on climate change inaction in Australia. She was also the delegate for Climate, Sustainability and Energy for the Youth Engagement Group to the G20 in 2021.
